Engines

8 engines.

An engine is how we deliver a family of strategy work the same way every time. Each one combines a strategist pod, a team of AI agents, calculation code we test ourselves and a red team, all working from your Strategy Twin.

strategy1's 8 AI strategy engines cover launch and go-to-market, brand, capital, events, infrastructure projects, deals, market entry and scenarios. Each engine pairs a strategist pod with AI agents, calculation code we test ourselves and a red team, all working from your Strategy Twin. Domain Fellows sign the conclusions that carry professional liability.

Inside every engine

8 agents, each with a rule it cannot break.

Every engine runs the same team of agent types. Choose an agent to see its job and its guardrail.

Orchestrator
Acts only through defined actions on your Twin.
Research
Stores every claim with its source.
Data & ontology
Needs human approval for any change to your Twin's structure.
Modelling & finance
Uses tested code for every number. The LLM explains, it does not calculate.
Domain specialist
Licensed expert sign-off where liability exists.
Red team
Writes the mandatory “how this fails” section.
Narrative
Cannot add a fact that is not in the evidence ledger.
Governance & audit
Writes nothing to your systems without approval.

Every number from our own tested code.

How we use AI

Critics by design

Four critics argue against every plan.

The red team writes the mandatory “how this fails” section. Before an option reaches the Council, it is attacked from four sides.

Methods, not magic

Named methods, applied the same way every time.

Every engine uses strategy1 methods: the S1 Method, the Strategy Twin, confidence grading, red-team protocol and 7 calculation functions. Where a client expects an established framework, we apply it inside the same evidence rules. Each deliverable names the method it used.

7 calculation functions

  1. fn.01Market sizing
  2. fn.02NPV / IRR / DSCR
  3. fn.03LCOE
  4. fn.04Price elasticity
  5. fn.05Monte Carlo scenarios
  6. fn.06Event break-even
  7. fn.07Brand-health index
  8. The LLM explains, it does not calculate.

How a run works

Sense, Model, Simulate, Decide, Deploy, Learn.

You approve the structure. The Strategy Council and a Domain Fellow sign; you choose. Your named owner accepts each action.

Sense

AI does
Reads your documents and systems, and public market, competitor and regulatory data.
People do
A Forward Deployed Strategist frames the decision and the success metric with you.
Output
Problem brief and data inventory.
Indicative time

How we work

The rules every engine follows.

  1. 01

    Every number traceable.

Each figure links to its source, date and confidence grade (A, B or C).

  2. 02

    Every plan red-teamed.

Each strategy ships with its strongest counter-arguments and the conditions under which it fails.

  3. 03

    Signed where it matters.

Domain Fellows, who are chartered engineers, CAs, lawyers and sector veterans, sign the parts that carry professional liability.

  4. 04

    Nothing written without approval.

No decision reaches your systems until your named owner accepts it.

Questions

About strategy1's engines

What is a strategy engine?

A strategy1 engine is a repeatable pod of strategists, AI agents with guardrails and a red team that produces one family of strategy deliverables. Each engine also runs calculation code we test ourselves and works from the client's Strategy Twin, so the same family of work is delivered the same way every time. Each deliverable names the method it used.

How does AI-powered strategy consulting work at strategy1?

Every engine run follows the S1 Method: Sense, Model, Simulate, Decide, Deploy and Learn. AI agents do the research, modelling and red-teaming between the stages. People hold three gates: an ontology engineer reviews the Twin's structure, the Strategy Council and a Domain Fellow sign the decision memo, and your named owner accepts each action before anything reaches your systems.

Which parts of strategy work does AI do, and which do people do?

AI agents find and read sources, map your data into the Strategy Twin, build the models behind each option, argue against the plan and draft the memo. Every number comes from tested code: the LLM explains, it does not calculate. People frame the decision, sanity-check assumptions and sign. Licensed Domain Fellows sign the technical, financial and legal conclusions.

Which engine should I start with?

Start with the free Strategy Readiness Scan, which takes 30–60 minutes and suggests an entry engine for your problem. If you already know the decision, the 72-Hour Strategy Bootcamp works one real problem to a decision memo your leadership signs, in 3–5 days for a fixed fee, exclusive of GST. An Engine Sprint then runs one engine at full depth in 1–3 weeks.

Pick the engine that fits your problem, or let the Scan suggest one.
