The Twin

The Strategy Twin

A living model of your strategic world. AI agents reason over it, senior people decide on it, and the decisions are written into execution once your owners accept them.

In short

What is a Strategy Twin?

A Strategy Twin is a living model of one company's markets, competitors, capital, constraints and decisions, which AI agents reason over and people decide on. strategy1 builds and keeps one Twin for each client, separate from every other client's, and each engagement adds to it, so the model stays current as the evidence changes.

Why it matters

A deck freezes the strategy at the moment it is presented.

A Twin does not. It is a strategic ontology per client, built in the first engagement and enriched in every later one. When a competitor moves, a rule changes or a KPI drifts, the Twin changes, and the decisions that depend on it are flagged for review.

Six domains

Hundreds of objects that matter, not millions of records.

The Twin models the parts of your world that strategy decisions depend on. We compete on decision speed and quality, not on data-platform breadth.

Nouns, links and verbs

Objects, links, actions and functions.

Objects are the nouns. Links say how they relate. Actions are the verbs a decision can trigger. Functions are the calculations, run in code.

Traceable both ways

Every decision links back to its evidence and forward to its KPIs.

Any recommendation can be traced to its sources, and later to its results. A decision moves through clear states — draft, proposed, approved, executing, measured — or is marked rejected or superseded, so you can always see where it stands.

FAQ

Questions about the Strategy Twin

How is a Strategy Twin different from a dashboard?

A dashboard reports numbers. A Strategy Twin models how the parts of a company's strategic world relate: markets, competitors, capital sources, regulations and decisions, linked to each other. Every decision links back to its evidence and forward to its KPIs, so when something changes, the Twin flags which decisions depend on it.

What is inside a Strategy Twin?

Six domains: market, competition, company, capital, context and decision. Each holds the objects strategy decisions depend on, such as segments, competitors, business units, capital sources, regulations, KPIs and evidence, joined by links such as competes-with, funded-by and impacts-KPI.

How does a Strategy Twin stay current?

Each engagement adds to the Strategy Twin. On the Strategy Twin retainer, KPIs are read daily, competitors and rules are scanned weekly, and scenarios are re-run before a monthly Strategy Council. When a competitor moves, a rule changes or a KPI drifts, the decisions that depend on it are flagged for review.

Who builds and maintains a Strategy Twin?

strategy1 does. AI agents build and update the Strategy Twin at the Model stage of the S1 Method, tagging every fact with its source and confidence, and an ontology engineer reviews its structure at gate H1 before any option is built on it.

How does a company get a Strategy Twin?

Every 72-Hour Strategy Bootcamp leaves the client with a starter Strategy Twin, built within the 72 hours. It grows with every later engagement, such as an Engine Sprint or the Strategy Twin retainer.
