Definition

What is a Strategy Twin?

A Strategy Twin is a living model of one company's markets, competitors, capital, constraints and decisions, which AI agents reason over and people decide on. strategy1 builds and keeps one Twin for each client, separate from every other client's, and each engagement adds to it, so the model stays current as the evidence changes.

Also called: digital twin of a business for strategy, the Twin.

Context

Why it matters

A slide deck freezes a strategy at the moment it is presented. A Twin keeps the facts, the options and the decisions in one model, so when a competitor moves, a rule changes or a KPI drifts, the decisions that depend on it are flagged for review instead of going stale.

In practice

How strategy1 uses it

Every 72-Hour Strategy Bootcamp leaves the client with a starter Twin. Engine Sprints build on it, and the Strategy Twin retainer keeps it current with KPIs read daily, competitor and regulatory scans weekly and a Strategy Council every month. The Twin models six domains: market, competition, company, capital, context and decision.

FAQ

Strategy Twin: common questions

Does a Strategy Twin model individual people?

No. A Strategy Twin models markets, assets and decisions, not people. Where customer personas appear in a Twin, they are aggregates. The Twin holds the objects that strategy decisions depend on, such as segments, competitors, capital sources, regulations and KPIs, rather than personal records.

What happens to a Strategy Twin if a client stops working with strategy1?

The client keeps the outputs. If a client does not continue after a 72-Hour Strategy Bootcamp, the starter Strategy Twin is exported to the client and deleted on the schedule set in the contract.

Is a Strategy Twin a data platform?

No. A Strategy Twin holds hundreds of objects that matter to strategy decisions, not millions of records. strategy1 competes on decision speed and quality, not on data-platform breadth, so the Twin models only what the decisions depend on.
